Break the Chain!! Break the Lock šŸ”

Updated: Sep 11, 2022

I have SO MANY WORDS none that are good !! This dog's story is HEARTBREAKING. Champ was chained to a tree for quite some time. The heavy chain was pad locked to his neck!

So this dog was found in a homeless camp. His collar is so embedded deep in his neck, it is necrotic and infected. NO ONE could find the key...the top of the chain was barely visible it was deeply embedded into his neck. It had already started healing over the chain!

NO-ONE will take ownership of this dog. This community is a resilient group of people living on whatever they can find, moving nomadically from place to place. I am thankful for the person that called in to get help for him and release him to our care! This dog needed immediate help.

We were not able to remove the chain on the scene, as it is secured so tightly with a LOCK! Due to not having the key, we cannot remove it without medical assistance.

WHO COULD DO THIS TO AN INNOCENT DOG? THIS TREATMENT IS INEXCUSABLE.

We have ZERO place for this dog in our rescue, however how do we say NO?

He is on the way to the ER and we will do everything we can to help this dog. We will need to find him a foster once this horrible chain is removed. He has been reported to be very sweet, playful, and likes other dogs.

Champ will need emergency surgery. DONATE NOW to help save him!
