Hello Everyone! We are so excited you are here with us. This blog has been a long time in the making! We hope to share with you things about our dogs, our volunteers, helpful pet information and the goings on behind the scenes.
Our rescue was founded in 2015 by one woman and a few friends. It was truly a grass roots effort trying to save some dogs abandoned in a Dallas park from certain death. Over time they became more organized and Dallas Dog was formed. Little by little under the leadership of our President and with the help of volunteers the rescue grew each year. Then in 2017 the unthinkable happened, Hurricane Harvey. Its devastation was far and wide. Our volunteers sprung into action formulating a plan and finding a place to help house affected dogs and cats from the Houston area. Since then, we have been even more focused to grow the rescue and make a difference in the lives of Texas animals.
As our rescue has grown we have worked hard to figure out what works and what doesn’t work. We strive each day to make improvements where they are needed. Despite our growth and volunteers coming and going our rescue has continued to be run by the same President and about 8-12 long-term volunteers.
We could not have done all that we have accomplished without our team and we are so thankful for all of them. So buckle up and join us on this often bumpy and wild ride called “Rescue”. We hope to share with you our hopes, plans and dreams for the future to help us build real “Reform” in the great state of Texas.
Dallas Dog - Rescue. Rehab. Reform.
Our mission is to rescue unwanted neglected, and abused animals across Texas. “Dallas Dog RESCUES the hurt and abandoned, REHABILITATES the broken, and REFORMS the community through education to eliminate animal neglect.
